- Step 1: To get an accurate measurement, position your saddle on your horse in the right place. On your horse’s back, make a mark directly underneath the saddle's screw.
- Step 2: Remove the saddle and place the gullet measurement vertically on your marker.
- Step 3: Slide the gullet measurement down until both contact surfaces rest on the horse and a measurement can be taken.
- Step 4: The gullet measurement tells you the size/colour of the gullet to use for your horse. It is recommended to repeat this process 3 to 4 times/year.
